Hardscape Design

Hardscape in the practice of landscaping, refers to the paved areas like streets and sidewalks, large business complexes and housing developments, and other industrial areas where the upper-soil-profile is no longer exposed to the actual surface of the Earth.
When designing your garden, always begin with the permanent structures. Let the physical area and surroundings dictate the shape and form of your design. Make sure drainage, grading and compaction are properly planned because you don’t want problems cropping up after the garden is done. Design the garden, then plan your irrigation. Let DEK Landscape Design help you plan it all out before construction begins.
What is an example?
Constructing a patio or deck is a hardscape project, as is a brick walkway, a stone wall, or a wooden fence. But hardscape goes beyond large-scale projects such as these. Any non-living ornamentation in your landscaping is, technically, part of the hardscape.
Collaborating with us on your next Land/Hardscape project will help bring a fresh and innovative perspective on the potential of your land.
